Breast Self Awareness

Breast Self Awareness

It is important to be aware of your body and any changes that may occur, as well as what your breast cancer risks are and how to make positive lifestyle changes to lower these risks. Find out about your family history. Talk to your doctor and ask questions about your personal risk and screening recommendations.

Most importantly, look and feel for changes in your breasts regularly—early detection is the key to survival. To learn more about Breast Self-Awareness, schedule a To Life! Breast Health Workshop.

  • Breast Self-Exams are recommended monthly. Talk to your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in the look or feel of your breasts. To learn how to correctly perform a Breast Self-Exam, click here.
  • Clinical Breast Exams are recommended at least every three years beginning at age 20. Clinical Breast Exams are similar to Breast Self-Exam but are performed by a medical professional.
