Sabrina Mosseau BS,RN,OCN

Sabrina is the dynamic force leading Samaritan Hospital’s Cancer Treatment Center and Women’s Health Center.  As the Administrative Director of Medical Oncology and Women’s Health, Sabrina is making a difference in the lives of cancer patients each and every day. As an inpatient oncology nurse beginning at Albany Memorial Hospital, Sabrina witnessed patient struggles and vowed to commit her professional energy to improving the patient experience.  Her career experience includes work as a patient advocate and educator.

She is involved in many quality healthcare initiatives and is recognized as a leader in oncology quality and outcomes for her institution.  She is also very involved in the oncology community, serving as a past President of the Capital District Oncology Nursing Society, serving on the Board of Trustees for the Upstate New York/Vermont Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a past President, and serving on the Resource Council of the Hope Club of Central New York. She is published in the field of oncology patient navigation and she was the first to bring this program to the Capital District area.

It is her goal that cancer services should be unlimited, that people should have a choice in combining their treatments into a total plan of Integrative Wellness, that research into cancer control and cure is brought out of the laboratory quicker and to the bedside of the individuals who need it most, and that patients are provided with a navigator to assist and guide them through their oncology care.

Sabrina’s influence has not gone unnoticed. In 2012, she competed for the title of  “Woman of the Year” from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society -Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter, raising over $68,000 in 8 short weeks. With nursing and science degrees from Mohawk Valley Community College and Siena College respectively, Sabrina was drawn to caring for people at a young age and decided to make that her life’s work.  Sabrina and her husband Paul and son James have made the Capital Region their home.

Mary Bowen, RN

Mary is the face of kindness and compassion at the office of New York Oncology Hematology. Mary’s nursing career began at St. Peter’s Hospital, working in intensive care, maternity and Hospice care. Mary’s formal training includes; Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, BS from Excelsior College, professional certifications in oncology nursing and breast care. Mary is currently pursuing her Masters in Nursing from Excelsior College – will complete by next year.

Experience with oncology nursing evolved into a lifelong interest in helping cancer patients. Mary found her dream job as a nurse navigator, a role that allows her to utilize her training to help women at a critical time. A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Mary married her childhood sweetheart Bill. They have two adult children and two delightful grandchildren.

Throughout her career, Mary has felt called to serve. Her ability to connect with patients, advocate and listen has served our community well.
